The Freund Family Story - How We Began
Primo Plumbing Inc. is a plumbing company that is dedicated to serving the customer in every way possible. We were founded in 1964 and have used the years to perfect the way we run our company.
Over 40 years ago, John and Robert Freund founded Freund Enterprises on the core beliefs that the customer truly comes first and that value and integrity be displayed in everything they do. Now, with over 75 years experience between them, John and Robert have passed on their legacy to their children: Tom, Matt, Andrea and Pat Freund.

Company Founders - 1964
Patrick M. Freund, Primo Plumbing President - As a graduate from The University of Texas with a BBA in marketing, Pat began his career in Houston with Frito-Lay in their sales and marketing training program in 1990. He later assumed a marketing manager position with C2Media where he stayed for five years. In 2000, Pat moved to San Antonio to head the service, marketing and business development for CAE. In the fall of 2007, Pat pulled out of the AC side of Freund Enterprises to head up their new endeavor, Primo Plumbing. PFreund@PrimoPlumbingInc.com A. John Freund, P.E. - Founder - John graduated The University of Texas in 1954 with a BSME and spent his first two years as an engineer with RCA in Pennsylvania. John moved to San Antonio within 2 years to work with Southwest Research Institute. He held that position for three years before moving over to Friedrich Refrigeration. In 1964, John, along with Bud Mapes and Robert Freund, his cousin and brother respectively, ventured out privately to found Comfort-Air Engineering. JohnF@comfort-air.com Robert G. Freund, P.E. - Founder- Robert spent two years in the U.S. Navy before pursuing his education at The University of Texas. Upon graduation in 1957, he moved to New York to work with Carrier Air Conditioning Co. In 1964, Robert moved to San Antonio to found Comfort-Air Engineering with his brother and cousin. RobertF@comfort-air.com Matthew A. Freund - President, Freund Enterprises- With a BSME from The University of Texas, Matt joined EDS as an engineer in Michigan in 1985. In 1991, Matt moved back to Austin to pursue an MSME and started working for Sulzer Carbomedics. In 2000, he joined Comfort-Air to develop the engineering department and to supervise construction sales. Upon John and Robert's retirement in 2001, Matt was promoted to President of Comfort-Air.
MattF@comfort-air.com Andrea Freund Wurzbach - VP- Operations - Growing up in the family business, Andrea has held numerous jobs for CAE, from answering phones to service dispatching to payroll She has the most tenure of all second generation Freunds. Andrea took time off to raise three children, returning in 2003 to be our office manger / accountant. She is now responsible for all office and facility operations. AndreaW@FreundEnterprises.com Thomas A. Freund - Thomas A. Freund - VP- Service Operations - Following in the Freund family tradition, Tom graduated from The University of Texas in 1993 with a BA. Growing up in the business, Tom has had many different responsibilities over his tenure with Comfort-Air. From accounts payable to receivables to service managing, Tom has always been involved in the daily operations of the company.
